Simplicity in Gravity
Simplicity in Gravity
Photographer, Meg Rorison explores a magical urban space in her photo-series, "Jumping Project." Her photos document various figures balanced in the air among urban alleyways. The grime and stark shadows work to balance the unfaltered figures. Rorison's work is influenced by Cindy Sherman's Untitled Film Stills and Philip-Lorca diCorcia's staged subjects in urban settings. Her work often searches for an understanding connection among humanity and space, by using the frame to link her visual language with her poetic lexicon.
The work exists within the understanding of narration and imagination. Her concepts are represented through the images themselves, as Rorison uses her subjects to explore the form as a controlled system, existing in juxtapose within an environment/space outside of itself.
